ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ELECTRICAL FENCING
Why electrical fencing? This is usually, well most of the time installed to keep intruders out. Who are the intruders? Well we can call them humans, and animals. Electrical fencing uses a low voltage, which gives you an electrical shock, i.e it may give you discomfort and mild pain. When an object/animal or human is touched by the electrical fence, a shock is received. The current flows from the energizer through the electric fencing to the culprit. The current then flows down the earth to the ground system thus completing the circuit. The shock stops the culprit from putting pressure on the fence line. The shock that the culprit receives is a mild one, not life-threatening. The electric fence does not physically harm the culprit.
How does it work? It is energized by the main switch or a lead acid battery. The energizer part of the electrical fence consists of converting the mains power into a high voltage pulse about 150 micro seconds apart. With an electric fence, things to consider is make there aren't any trees growing close to the wires, as these wires are sensitive and respond to any movement .Always make your branches are trimmed regularly.
Prior to electric fence installation we have to know how an electric fence works. The energizer of an electric fence converts the mains power into a high voltage pulse about 150 microseconds long. The energizer releases the pulse onto an insulated electrical fence once every second.
Measures to should take into consideration when installing your electrical fencing are: The Total length of the electric fencing, The specified location and length of the supply lines from the energizer to the fence and of course your type of electrical energizer-mains, battery and sometimes in remote areas the solar power.
For an even tighter security, you may install an electrical gate. The arms of the electric gate's movement is controlled by a microprocessor driven motor and gear assembly. The electrical gate is also an access control system and can be used as security access point..
The advantage of an electrical fence is that it can be seen, therefore giving advance warning. Moderate electricity and in some cases, an alarm, is also provided.

Zareba Fence Controller Safe For Dogs?
My dad recently purchased a Zareba Fence Controller made for 'short-haired livestock and small animals.' It has Red Snap'r on the front of it. For some reason, when I hear 'small animals' I think of goats and lambs like farm animals...not five pound Pomeranian-Chihuahuas. I can't seem to find the amps and volts so if anyone has used this before, can you tell me if this i safe for our dogs and cat? Thanks!
You shouldn't use live stock electric fences on a dog, the voltage is way to high for the dog to take. You could easily kill or injure the dog.
